A permanent system is not a rental left behind. It has to survive daily use by people who were not there when it was installed, work the first time someone presses a button, and still be serviceable in ten years. S.E.S has been installing audiovisual systems in Québec since 1996, and our installs are built by technicians who know exactly how a room behaves under a live audience.
We handle the whole path: site survey, system design and drawings, equipment supply, cabling and conduit coordination with your electrician, mounting and rigging, programming, commissioning, staff training and documentation. One supplier is accountable from the first walk-through to the final sign-off.
Because we also rent and operate event gear, we size systems honestly. You get the equipment your room actually needs, with room to expand later, and a phone number to call when something needs service — not a warranty card from a distributor.

How a project runs
- 1. Site visit — We walk the room, measure it, and listen to how you actually use it.
- 2. Design & quote — You get a system design, an equipment list and a fixed quote — no vague line items.
- 3. Installation — We coordinate with trades, run cable, build racks and mount everything cleanly.
- 4. Commissioning — Tuning, programming, testing and training, with documentation handed over.
- 5. Service — Preventive maintenance visits and a direct line when something needs attention.
Permanent installation questions
- Do you work with architects, contractors and electricians?
- Yes. We join the project early, provide drawings and cable and power requirements for the electrician, and coordinate our schedule with the general contractor so conduit and backing are in place before finishes go up.
- Can you upgrade an existing system instead of replacing it?
- Often yes. We audit what is installed, keep what still performs — speakers, cabling, structure — and replace the parts that limit the room, which is usually the processing, control and displays.
- Who maintains the system afterwards?
- We do. We offer preventive maintenance visits, remote support and on-site service, and because we are a Montréal company with our own warehouse we can supply loaner gear if something fails before an important date.
- Can the system be simple enough for non-technical staff?
- Yes, and it should be. We program control panels around the tasks your staff actually perform — start a meeting, mute a mic, raise the house lights — and we train them on site.
- Do you install outside Montréal?
- Yes. We install across Québec and into Ontario, and we plan travel and service coverage into the proposal.
Gyms & fitness studios — a specialty
We also do a lot of installation work in gyms and fitness studios: group class rooms for Zumba, spin and HIIT, weight floors and multipurpose training spaces. Fitness sound has its own challenges — the system has to cut through the class next door, survive hours of high-energy use every day, and be simple enough for instructors to run between classes. We design for exactly that.

A large part of our installation work is in schools: auditoriums, gymnasia, cafetoriums and multipurpose rooms. School systems have their own rules — they run daily, are operated by teachers and students rather than technicians, take physical abuse, and have to respect school-board budgets and tender processes. We design for exactly that.
